Complete setup guides, role permissions, and troubleshooting for NetSuite Pulse.

Already setup? Go to Portal

1. NetSuite Permissions

Step 1: Create the Monitor Role

Zero-Footprint Installation

Pulse creates zero footprint. Do not install a bundle. Simply create a single role with these exact view-only permissions.

1

Create New Role

Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles > New.

Name: Pulse Monitor Center: Accounting Center

Crucial Step: Under the Authentication section, check the box for "Web Services Only Role".

2

Subsidiary Restrictions

If your company uses NetSuite OneWorld to manage multiple subsidiaries, you must explicitly grant this role access to view them.

Under Subsidiary Restrictions, select the appropriate option.

Pro Tip: Select "All" to see a global, top-down view of all company transactions in your Pulse app. Alternatively, select specific subsidiaries to intentionally restrict the mobile dashboard to a single region or division.
3

Setup & Reports Permissions

Add these to the Permissions > Setup tab (Level: Full):

Log in using Access Tokens REST Web Services User Access Tokens

Add this to the Permissions > Reports tab (Level: Edit):

SuiteAnalytics Workbook
4

Transaction Permissions

Add these permissions to the Permissions > Transactions tab. Set the level to VIEW for all of them:

Don't see all of these? NetSuite hides permissions for features your company doesn't use. If you are missing items like "Work Order" or "Adjust Inventory", just skip them!
Find Transaction Adjust Inventory Bills Build Assemblies Cash Sale Credit Memo Customer Payment Expense Report Invoice Item Fulfillment Item Receipt Make Journal Entry Pay Bills Purchase Order Sales Order Transfer Inventory Work Order

2. Connect via Access Tokens

Step 2: Connect

Token-Based Authentication

Securely generate access tokens to link your NetSuite account to the Pulse app.

1

Enable Features

Ensure Token Based Authentication is enabled in Setup > Company > Enable Features > SuiteCloud.

2

Integration Record

Go to Setup > Integration > Manage Integrations > New.

Check Token-Based Authentication.
Uncheck "TBA: Authorization Flow" and "Public Client".

Click Save. Immediately copy the Consumer Key & Secret.

3

Create Access Tokens

Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Access Tokens > New.

Select the Integration and the User/Role you created in Step 1.

Click Save. Immediately copy the Token ID & Token Secret.

4

Generate Mobile Access Code

Go to the Pulse Portal and click Connect New Account.

Paste the 4 keys/secrets you generated.

Click Connect to instantly generate your mobile Access Code!

3. The Daily Pulse Briefing

Automated Reporting

Your Morning Dispatch

NetSuite Pulse includes an automated daily email digest that delivers a breakdown of yesterday's completed transactions straight to your inbox.

1

How to Subscribe

Open the NetSuite Pulse mobile app and navigate to your Settings tab. Tap "Subscribe to Daily Briefing" and enter your email address. You will begin receiving the briefing the following morning.

2

Timezone Aware

When you subscribe, the app automatically detects your local timezone. We process and deliver your briefing around 5:30 AM local time, ensuring your data is ready when you wake up, regardless of where your corporate headquarters is located.

3

What's Included?

The briefing aggregates the exact 16 core transaction types tracked in the app (Sales Orders, Invoices, Fulfillments, Vendor Bills, etc.) so you can gauge operational volume at a glance without logging into NetSuite.

4. Team Access & Seat Management

Licensing

One Subscription, Unlimited Execs

Your $40/month subscription covers the secure connection to your NetSuite environment, not per-user seats. Once your NetSuite Admin generates the mobile Access Code via the web portal, that code can be securely distributed to your internal executive team (CFO, COO, Warehouse Managers) so your entire leadership team has access to the same real-time operational dashboard on their individual phones without paying extra.

5. Security & Disconnection

The Kill Switch

How to Revoke Access Natively

Because NetSuite Pulse uses standard Token-Based Authentication, your internal IT team maintains total, overriding control of the connection. You do not need to contact us to shut off data access.

1

Locate the Token

Within NetSuite, navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Access Tokens.

2

Revoke Access

Find the row for the Pulse Integration token you generated during setup and click Revoke.

The mobile application will instantly and permanently lose read-access to your ERP data.

Troubleshooting & Help

Critical Error

"Invalid Access Code"

The mobile app rejected your code. This usually happens if there is a typo or if the connection was deleted in the portal.

The Fix:
Log in to the Portal. Copy the code exactly. It is case-sensitive (e.g. ABCD-1234).
Warning

"Data Not Syncing"

The app connects, but the dashboard shows "Synced: 2 days ago" or "No Data".

The Fix:
1. Check the Role Permissions (see Step 1 above).
2. Ensure the User has "Log in using Access Tokens" permission.
